All Purpose Healing Salve
This stuff is great on burns and rashes. I have given this to everyone I know who has eczema or psoriasis and they rave about it.
All-Purpose Healing Salve

- 1/2 cup of coconut oil
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup beeswax
- 1/3 cup dried calendula flowers
- 15 drops tea tree oil
- 15 drops lavender

- Strain the mixture into a bowl through a cheesecloth.
- Add the calendula oil back to the saucepan and add the beeswax. Melt the beeswax.
- Remove from heat and let cool for around 15 minutes.
- Add the essential oils and stir.
- Pour into a glass jar and store for up to a year.
Notes
This is excellent for psoriasis, hives, any skin condition.
Blue Shower Spray
Hands down the best homemade cleaning solution. I keep a bottle in the shower.
Blue Shower Spray
Ingredients
- 1 cup blue Dawn dishwashing liquid
- 1 cup white vinegar
- 1 cup water
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to large spray bottle. Shake and spray!
Notes:
Fruit & Vegetable Soak
This soak is essential for getting all the wax off your fruit, like lemons, especially if you’re needing to grate the rind for a recipe.
Fruit & Vegetable Soak
Ingredients
- 3 cups water
- 1 cup white vinegar
- 5 drops lemon essential oil or 1 teaspoon lemon juice
Instructions
- Add vinegar and water to large bowl.
- Add lemon essential oil or lemon juice.
- Add fruits or vegetables
- Allow produce to soak for 10-15 minutes.
- Rinse produce WELL.
Notes
If you forget to rinse your produce well AFTER soaking, the rind will start to break down. It’s not pretty.
Homemade Deodorant
Several years ago I got all freaked out about the fact that most store-bought deodorants had aluminum in them. And I read a few things that indicated the aluminum in deodorant could be a cause in cancer. Well, that was enough for me to start making my own (or buy deodorant that does not have aluminum!). This is the concoction I like best. You need the baking soda to kill the odor, but it can be harsh on your skin, especially in sensitive areas. That’s where the bentonite clay comes in…it will help your skin from breaking out. Arrowroot powder is just a slightly less effective version of baking soda, so it’s needed to increase the volume while letting the baking soda do it’s thing. Tea Tree oil is to kill bacteria. Lavender is the smell-good, so that can be substituted with any scent you like. Everything else is for consistency.
Homemade Deodorant
Ingredients
- 1 1/3 cups Organic Coconut Oil
- 1 1/2 tablespoons Beeswax beads
- 1 1/2 tablespoons Organic Shea Butter
- 3/4 cup Arrowroot powder
- 1/4 cup Baking Soda
- 2 tablespoons Bentonite Clay
- 25 drops Tea Tree essential oil
- 5+ drops Lavender essential oil
Instructions
- Melt the oils (Coconut Oil, Beeswax and Shea Butter) on LOW heat until just melted.
- Remove from heat and add powders (Baking Soda, Arrowroot Powder and Bentonite Clay), stirring constantly to prevent lumps. Stir every 5-10 minutes until mixture has thickened.
- Add essential oils. Stir and then pour into airtight containers.
Notes
This deodorant is just a little too soft to work well in a deodorant tube. You could try increasing the amount of beeswax to see if that stiffens it up.
Homemade Ice Pack
Why buy it when you can make it!?

Get your vanilla beans on Amazon. They don’t need to be super high grade or pretty since you’re just extracting the flavor.
