Sausage Balls
Not to be confused with meatballs. or those weird little smokies? These are the real deal. Best eaten right out of the oven. They have a hint of spice and crisp up a little bit with the cheese. Do yourself a favor though and make them with a stand mixer. These get hard to mix with such little liquid in the recipe.

Ingredients
- 1 lb. uncooked breakfast sausage
- 1 lb. sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 2 cups self-rising flour
- 1/2 teaspoon Kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper, optional
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder, optional
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder, optional
- 1/4 cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Line baking sheet pans with parchment paper.
- Mix together all ingredients in a large bowl until just well-combined. Scoop mixture into tablespoon-sized balls with a scoop or using two spoons.
- Roll into balls with hands and place onto baking sheets.
- Bake 20 minutes or until golden brown and cooked throughout. Serve warm.
