MJ’s BBQ Brisket

Brisket is tricky because you want the fat to flavor the meet while it cooks but you don’t want to be eating slabs of fat. GROSS. Trim some of the fat and cook it with this marinade. Sooo good.

MJ's BBQ Brisket

The tanginess of the sauce is what kicks this brisket up a notch.

Ingredients

  • 4-5 lbs. brisket
  • 1 can consommé
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon liquid smoke
  • 1/2 cup favorite BBQ sauce
  • Garlic salt

Instructions

  1. Trim off fat.
  2. Cook brisket 1 hour per pound in liquid at 300°F, except the last hour, add 1/2 cup BBQ sauce and bake at 350°F.
