Night-Before French Toast Casserole
This is my grandma Libbus’s recipe. I ALWAYS make it the night before but I’m sure it would be delicious if you just let the juju soak in for 30-45 minutes before baking. Depending on your oven, you may need to cook an additional 15 - 30 minutes. It’s weird. But worth it.

Night-Before French Toast Casserole
An eggy version of French toast.

Ingredients
- 2 10-ounce long French or Italian bread loaves, cut into 1-inch thick slices
- 8 large eggs
- 3 cups milk
- 4 tablespoons sugar
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 2 tablespoon butter, cut into pieces
- Additional butter for pan
Instructions
- Grease 9x13" pan with butter.
- Mix all ingredients.
- Line pan with bread slices. Pour mixture over bread.
- Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight.
- Put pan in oven and turn to 350°F. Bake 45-50 minutes. Dot bread with butter pieces before cooking.
